Budgeting and Financial Help

We recognise that sometimes things get difficult, and if you find yourself short of money and unable to pay your rent we are more interested in helping you sort things out than evicting you, and we won’t judge you because stuff happens. If you realise that you won’t be able to pay your rent, you need to contact us as soon as you can. The longer you leave things, the bigger the problem gets, so if you contact us immediately we will probably be able to sort things out for you.

If you need help with budgeting, we suggest you contact the New Zealand Federation of Family Budgeting Services or if you just want some ideas and a budget template, the Sorted website has a range of resources including a useful financial check-up. Don’t feel awkward about getting help because a lot of people, including professionals and people on high incomes use budgeting services, and getting help is the sign of a smart person.
